This 3-piece sailing instrument set includes two Speedwiser 2 central units and a Windwiser 2 anemometer.

Speedwiser 2 comes with a big screen view, simple personalisation, racing mode and superb visibility. It is built around a 72 MHz Cortex ARM microprocessor that will cope with the most complex computations we can through at it. Boat speed and position is measured by its high precision GPS chip while heading is gained from the integrated 3D compass. Its 5" (127mm, diagonal) wide bright, white background sunlight-viewable monochrome display is 130 percent larger than that of its predecessor's. You can customize its data content to your preferences. Please see the list below for available functions.
Speedwiser 2 supports master-slave mode. When enabled all onboard Speedwiser 2 units will show the same information that is coming from the master unit.

Details of available functions:
Speedwiser 2 has a central role among our instruments. It has its own measuring capabilities like boat speed and heading; it collects and processes data from our other devices like the depth and wind instruments or an other Speedwiser 2; and finally it is a display and control unit in our architecture.
Collected and processed data just like its own GPS measurements will show on its display in either numerical or vectorial format. Its geospatial positioning unit supports both GPS and Glonass standards.

True wind direction (TWA) and true wind speed (TWS) are calculated by subtracting the speed and direction of wind from that of the boat. True-, and apparent wind can be shown side by side on our wind diagram.

Velocity made good (VMG) is calculated from true wind direction (TWD), which is calculated from true wind angle (TWA) and course on ground (COG).

You can enter and set way point coordinates on our system similar to a chart-plotter, for which Windwiser can calculate the distance between the set point and the actual position of your boat (DTW), the bearing to this point (BTW) and your boat's velocity to the point (VTW).

When connected to Depthwiser 1 our device can offset water depth measurements by a set value, which means that the depth could be adjusted to the bottom of the keel or the waterline. You can set an alarm to warn crew for inadequate water depth.

Through the bluetooth module all measured and calculated values could be transmitted for reuse by 3rd party apps like iRegatta.

Race mode related functions:
We added a race watch to Speedwiser with the most popular countdown values as presets. From here you can jump to the start line menu where after line info is taken (by adding the jury boat and start buoy as waypoints) the device will show your distance to the line as well as your estimated time of arrival (ETA).

Windwiser can create the polar diagram for your vessel by collecting its speed data together with the speed and direction of wind taken at the same time. These values are then stored and will contribute to the creation of your own boat specific polar diagram. Speedwiser will indicate when you reach or exceed your historic highest speed in actual wind conditions (PSR). It is downloadable for reuse (works on Android only at the time of writing; January 2023).

Fitting details:
Speedwiser 2 works as the central unit in our architecture. Every connected unit like a depth or wind instrument communicate through a so called CAN bus system. This is based on a network of four core wires and power for devices is supplied through these wires too. Devices on the network are interchangeable (there is no set order to them) and you can have any number of Speedwiser devices present on the network.

All our devices are designed to have a flat backside. Fixing will require 4 holes only. Two for the connectors (12mm) and two for the fixing screws (5mm).

Depthwiser can be order with two different sonar options. For single core or laminated plastic boats we recommend our in-hull sonar, which is glued to the bottom of the boat hull. As it does not require the drilling of the vessel hull it could be performed without lifting the boat out from the water.
